have you tried to use it in another pc? if you do and it works then it is the pc not the thumb drive. if it doesn't work on any pc then it is fried! check the warranty some are lifetime and they will send you another one.

on a side note I know everyone thinks it's bullshit but you should always safely remove any hardware.

OK like Master Lu said try it in another pc. If it works, put it back in yours, and go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager/ look to see if there is a yellow ? by any of the USB ports. If there is then you can try to update driver. If that doesn't work you can try to uninstall the driver ,then reinstall it, or you can use the troubleshooter.

Hope this helps.

Go to the website of the company that makes it. Go under support and see if they have some info on warranty of any kind or maybe even some patches or fixes that can be applied. You will be surprised at how helpful some of these companies are online, without having to register the device.. B/c for example if you own anything from Belkin they don't require receipt or anything just that you return the defective device. This may be the case for yours. Good Luck:up:

thanks I am looking right now on the website. it is a i/o magic gigabank drive. 8gb. I was thinking about also finding a place locally that carries it and then buying a new one then returning the old one. HAHA
