Say hello to your lil friend: the sensor.
this lil guy senses how much light is shining on the phone, hence the name. after a case change, the majority of which are thinner and mostly transparent, much more light than ever accounted for shines through and makes the sensor much more "sensitive". so youre phone thinks there is more light than there actually is, and in most cases makes it hard to see the screen. This can be overcome by going to Menu>Settings>Display/Info>Backlight>Sensor. Turn it off to accomodate for the extra light.
This also works on every other phone made by nextel. The steps to accomplish this may be different, such as Menu>Settings>Initial Setup>Display>Sensor
I originally had the titel say ...your KP doesnt light up... however i changed it to keypad. KP is a common abbreviation in the iden community for keypad.
