View Full Version : HELP...i730 Outside Screen Dosn't Work

I recently replaced the housing on my i730. After turning the phone on I realized that the front screen dose not work. The problem is that the phone dose not know when the flip is closed. One of my friends works at a Nextel store and he took it apart and coundn't figure out what I did wrong. The phone works fine and the front screen works at start up the only problem is that the phone thinks the flip is open all the time and dose not know when it is closed. Is there anyone who had a similar problen who might be able to help me. thanks

did u take the little magnet from the old houseing and put in the new one try taking a ordinary magnet and puting it by the 3 or 6 on ur key pad if ur screen shut off with out the flip colsed then u forgot the magnet

If the inside screen is still lit when you close the flip, then the magnet is your problem. If not then you probably have an extremely miinute pinch in your ribbon.


The image below shows the inside panel of a 730 WITH a magnet, you'll notice the small metalic circle on the left
