Here Is some Diagrams I made up For Led Mods.
More to come.
Keep in mind, depeding on who manufacters the LED's, the markings are different, the polarity on my LED's is all marked with a cathode facing T, since they are made by toshiba (only the best baby!) lol Good Looking out Snakejockey

You could use the same kind you use on the keypad

Ok few questions
#1 Can you change the status lights? I would like to have white for service and blue for no service.
#2 Can you chang the backlight color on the LCD? If so how?
And where can I get LEDs at? And the resistors?
Thanks guys,
Joel

what are resistors used for?what are they?
they lower the current going to the leds so they don't get overloaded

If you want to add LEDs to the empty spots on the keypad, do you have to use a resistor? I figure it would just make it bright if you don't but they may burn out quicker. If you don't use a resistor, do you have to bridge the gap between the bottom two solder points? Thanks alot.

you have to use the resistors or your battery will go dead super fast plus you could fry the led and u put them in the same as the rest.

idenundaground's shipping is a little slow, but i got everything i paid for. i don't know why, but it seems that some people have more problems with them than others do. i dunno

DJJeffa, what size are the LED's and resistors used for the i95 and the i730? A numeric answer will work best as I know they are the same size as the phones keypad =P
What do you consider to be the highest quality brand LED and resistor?

I use 681 resistors case thats what the phones come with of course you could go lower for a brighter look, as far as the leds i dont have a # I get them from iu.

Just found out both phones use 0603 SMT LEDs. They are much cheaper other places online if one is inclined to save money. =]
Next Question. I have a Hakko soldering iron that allows a variety of tempertures. I'm wondering what degree of heat works best for iDEN phones.
Yea what degree heat would be correct for ribbons(i95 cid leds, i730 cid leds)

ok simple wat to find out grab it with a tweasers and power up the board buy holding a batter to the back or use a rubber band to hold the batt on then with the tweaser and the led hold it to the solder joint see if it lights if not spin it 180 and try

ok sorry for a double post. I was taking the leds off of my i205 board and when I did one, the pad that is on the board came off too. Does anybody have any suggestions? I was thinking about putting a wire to the resistor to power the led . What do y'all think? :D
