Size of animated gifs for start-up

Can anyone tell me the max size for an animated gif during start-up? I have already locked my phone up once from loading a gif that was to big for the text_img, so what is the max size that each one can be?

If larger than 16kb its not gonna show up and freezing up can occur. So, make sure it is below that.
