All you have to do is load them with webjal in the wallpaper section and if you saved them correctly they will appear. Save them exacly as you see them above.

i downloade the dancing baby, by right clicking my mouse and selecting save as. then i uploaded it to my phone, but it doesn't work. it just shows the pic of the baby, but it doesn't dance.
am i suppose to download something else with it to upload to make it work or something?

if you want the animated pic to be longer laod the pic as "carrier_img.gif" and "text_img.gif" and it will play the same picture both times. Giving you the appearance as a long file.

Can you explain what is name of file you are trying to rename? Some files can't have certain things in it..such as quotations.

also a thing to remember, when putting on wallpapers you can have the 16 in the menu and still load the carrier_img or text_img or whatever and not have it show up on the menu however it will still work even though its not on the menu

alright, the animated gifs are made as startup and powerdown images for when your phone turns on and turns off. they cant be made as a regular wallpaper. if a wallpaper is larger than 16kb its not gonna show up

here... when u turned on ur fone.. it got stucked. now juss leave it like that and connect ur fone to ur computer. Now load a smaller gif( smaller than 16KB ) as which ever img ur fone got stucked on. after u finished loading the smaller gif, turn ur fone off then turn it back on again. nornally it will run through wi the new gif u loaded. there u go. well it worked with mine.

This is becuz AO-HELL always has to rock the boat and try to be friggin' unique from everyone else. Rather than use the conventional .gif or .jpeg, they wanna load down your computer with worthless crap and big files (.bmp = Bitmap). The other file extension (.art = Art) is the proprietary file extension that AO-HELL uses in place of the .gif or .jpeg file. They understand that this file type cannot be loaded or altered by any program on the market (with the exception of the AO-HELL software that those corporate scumbags get users hooked on for some reason...ugh!).

My recommendation is if u r going to rape and pillage the WWW to look for images and animation...use IE or whichever browser u have loaded. DO NOT USE AO-HELL WWW SEARCH (...feel like i wanna puke everytime i say AO-HELL).

Make sure that u right-click ur little mouse button and click "Save Picture As..." and before saving it...look where u r saving it and check the file extension b4 saving it.

Hope this helped....now I have to go blow chunks (BLAH TO AO-HELL).

I find that if you completely wipe the phone clean using the recover option then upload your wallpapers first you can load up to 25 wallpapers not including the GIF anima. Then you can do all your games and what not and you'll find that if you add the anima Gif crap last it will show up some were in the wallpapers option as readlly available wallpapers not to mention as you delete a walpaper a new one will appear at the bottom of the list. Most likely on of those no more than 17 wp'z that should not be on your phone. They even replace the stock ones so make sure you really like it because we all know stock papers and tones can't be deleted right? lol Not all things are impossible and most all great eventions are purely mishaps and accidents, or atleast all the Iden stuff I found very possible.....I am luckier than most because I have access to a cache of phones to expirement with.... ANyway that's how..........

what are the other images, for ex. on start up you have the animated nextel, then a blue screen, java, powering up. i have an i830 and it worked only on the java img

You aren't saving them correctly if it's not working. See post again for exact way in which you should be saving it.

right-click and save-as an animated gif under the appropriate name den load it up wit webjal o sumtin and the animation will take care of itself on ur fone

To clear it up a lil this may help:
browser_img.gif - replaces the image when you start internet ( will only show the first time you start after powering the phone)
carrier_img.gif - replaces the Nextel image during power up
java_img.gif - replaces java image during power up
pwrdown_img.gif - replaces nextel done during powerdown
text_img.gif - replaces the t9 text image during power up
The i730 will only display a total of 16 wallpapers in the menu. This includes the 4 that came with your phone. So if you already have 16 wallpapers loaded on your phone these images will not show up in your menu to select as your wallpaper. If you have less than 16 you will see those names in your menu to select as your wallpaper.

i had the full 16 wallpapers before loading new GIFs to replace the original carrrier, text, java, and pwrdown images. after loading, I checked and saw that the same 16 wallpapers were there as before. now I turn the phone off/on. new images look and work fine, however, when i check the wallpaper menu settings again, i find that one of my previous walls was replced with text_img, the last new one I uploaded. if I delete text_img, the wall that it replaced reappears on the menu. for some reason, the new GIFs always appear immedately after the stock wallpapers, never at the end of the list or the middle. basically, each time i turn the phone off/on, one of my wallpapers is replaced by the last new startup/shutdown GIF that I uploaded. WTF?

I would try and delete all your wallpaper and gifs until you can verify that your memory is empty and load again. sounds like your 16 wallpapers were loaded twice.

i'm not sure what you mean...i don't think what you're saying is a wise course of action. I'm very meticulous about these things and always keep track of the phone's available memory on WebJal every time i make changes. somehow the new pwrup/pwrdnw images are pushing my regular walls off the settings menu, and not deleting them. this only happens when i restart the phone after loading the new pwrup/dwn image(s). like i said before, I checked the wallpaper menu immediately after loading the new images and they weren't there, but after powering the phone off/on they begin to appear. i'm going to do some more experimenting and see if i can't exlain this phenomenon better. i'd very much like to hear from anyone with more experience in this area. thanks.

All you have to do is load them with webjal in the wallpaper section and if you saved them correctly they will appear. Save them exacly as you see them above.

When the file is too large it'll freeze up your phone on start up and also it won't show up on your wallpaper list. Try replacing the start up image with a smaller one, that should solve your problem. Just remember that the size of the start up should not be larger than W130xH130 and the file size should not be larger than 19kb.
